anise plant

Anise is that funny looking plant available in most supermarkets that sometimes goes unnoticed. It is the bulb of the fennel plant. Although this part is quite the debate surprisingly. Cultivated in Egypt for over 4000 years (Wiki). The plant contains many health benefits for the body.

The Many Health Benefits for Anise

Anise is great for your blood, digestion, reduces menopausal heart flashes, and test tube studies revealed anise to be able to reduce the fungi related to yeast infections (Contributors). Aniseed relieves menstrual pain, has anti-diabetic properties, prevents bad breath, and good indications for treating insomnia (Koganti). An excellent food source for women for when they go through menopause and their cycle every month.

It's great for your blood because its rich in iron. This is why Dr. offices inject vitamins and other nutrients directly in your arm because it's difficult to receive the necessary nutrients into your blood through diet alone because of how diets exist today. People need to eat better in order to have the proper supply of nutrients to the blood. Anise is one of those foods that is naturally able to get injected into the blood with just a few servings.

Great For Women and Moms

Anise is awesome for new moms as well. The healthy seed boosts lactation for breastfeeding mothers and cures hiccups and severe stomach pain in babies (Health Benefits). Moms and women in general get to benefit tremendously with this natural product. It was amazing to find out how anise has so many beneficial elements catered to just women. I have yet to discover a natural food with so many benefits for women in particular.

Significantly Lowers Fasting Blood Glucose

lower blood sugar

Diabetes is a deadly disease affecting millions of people worldwide. Many natural foods help to prevent and fight the disease. Gymnema Sylvestre, ECGC, and coffee are few of the natural resources that fight and prevent diabetes. Like coffee, aniseed is great at fighting type 2 diabetes as it significantly lowered fasting blood glucose in a 60-day human study (Singletary).

Being able to fight type 2 diabetes naturally is a huge discovery because the disease is so deadly, especially in low-income and black communities

Italian anise cookies are the most famous dishes made with the natural plant. Of course, it loses much of its nutritional value as many unhealthy ingredients get added to it. People use anise as an ingredient for salads, breads, meats, tea, biscotti, sausage, soups and stews. Has a sweet taste comparable to licorice
